Wakatipu High School offers an exciting range of extra-curricular activities.
At WHS extracurricular activities form an important part of the educational experience of our students. We have an ambitious goal of having 100% of Year 9 and new students involved in some form of extracurricular activity each year. It helps our students to build connections and a sense of belonging.
There are many opportunities to get involved in sports through the school and the wider community. The school prides itself on a high participation rate and an inclusive approach that enables students to grow holistically, connect with others, enhance wellbeing and have fun.
A number of sports are delivered at school, while others are offered in conjunction with local clubs.
Our students compete in a range of competitions and tournaments locally, regionally and nationally and our
unique location creates opportunities to compete against a number of touring national and international schools.
Music, drama and the arts are another exciting part of our school. We have award-winning jazz and pop music bands and individual instrument tuition is available. Each year, students undertake a major musical and dramatic production and our international students are strongly encouraged to take part.
We also offer a range of academic clubs and other interests such as Model UN, chess, robotics and science clubs.
