WE PROVIDE STUDENTS FROM ALL CULTURES AN ENVIRONMENT FOCUSED ON ACADEMIC SUCCESS AND PERSONAL GROWTH IN AN INSPIRING ALPINE LOCATION.
We have more than 1450 students enrolled in Years 9 – 13 (aged 13 – 19 years old) and our school has an Equity Index (EQI) of 412 which means that it has very few barriers to education and has one of the highest ratings allocated by New Zealand’s Ministry of Education
Wakatipu High is large enough to offer a specialist curriculum for senior students as well as support for extracurricular activities and sport. We take pride in our safe and supportive learning environment where staff know students by name and our goal is to provide opportunities for all students, whatever their needs, to develop to their full potential by discovering and building on their strengths.
At Wakatipu High School you’ll get personalised learning programmes which take into account your abilities and interests. This specialist approach garners top results; a high percentage of our students qualify for university or further study and many gain scholarships. Wakatipu High School is a signatory to the Code of Pastoral Care for International Students.
